Cincinnati Yarn Blog
10 days since my last post. Shame on me. I apologize. Today we got in some of the most beautiful yarn I have seen in a long time. I am so excited! Here are some photos of some of my favorites.

From Artful Yarns, Celebrity this is a multi-colored ribbon yarn. Perfect for spring!

Adrienne Vittadini Celia - 100% Silk. We are carrying 6 different colors.

Reynolds Scandal - Perfect for scarves.

Mango Moon - 100% Recycled Silk. No two skeins are the same.

Here is a scarf I am starting. I'm knitting two strands - Adriafil Stars and On Line Linie Punta.

I was getting worried about the number of back orders we had and then last Fri we got a huge shipment of Kertzer Fizz, Multi-Fizz, Adriafil Stars, Punta, Cashmerino and Splash. Then today we got 5 boxes full of Artful Yarns Celebrity, Fable, Cinema, Mano Moon, Adrienne Vittadini Celia, Reynolds Scandal, Lush, and Fame. We are running out of room and we haven't even gotten Trendsetter yet!

I apologize for my absence. I recently got a new computer and it took a little longer to get back up to speed than I anticipated.

New Spring Yarns
The new spring yarns are slowly trickling in. We have TONS of yarn on back order. Hopefully we will start to see it soon.

Everything you love about Manos del Uruguary 100% wool, but now in cotton! We are now carrying 11 colors of the Manos Cotton Stria 100% Peruvian Cotton Kettle Dyed yarn.

From Noro, we have started out with 4 colors of Lily Multi - 70% Cotton, 30% Silk.

And finally, at least until later this week, Mountain Colors Bearfoot sock yarn. The same wonderful hand-painted yarn from Mountain Colors, in superwash wool for socks!

I started my Misti Alpaca sweater. It is knitting up extremely quickly. I hope to have it done sometime next week. I stole a skein of the Mountain Colors Bearfoot, I will start a sock as soon as I'm done with my sweater.

I have lots of knitting articles to post, but I will have to get to that tomorrow night.

I love alpaca!
This bulky alpca from Misti is my new favorite yarn. I am ordering LOTS of this on Monday. It is easily the softess yarn we carry. Two colors are already sold out. I will be starting a project with it shortly. I think I'll knit a sweater.

I promised photos. Here are couple sweaters knitted with the Entrelac pattern.

Misti Alpaca
Wow, that was quick. I love having a distributor in Illinois. We now have 7 colors of fingering weight and 7 colors of bulky.

New Yarn
Boxes full yarn keep coming in everyday. We finally got a couple of the new colors of the Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool. We still have a few more colors on back order. I haven't mentioned the new Lana Grossa Pep Stripes and Pep Prints. It is a very soft novelty yarn with wonderful colors. We have placed tons of orders for new yarns to come in the coming months. I would say we will be getting around 10 new styles of yarn by spring. Our shelves will be filled shortly.

Reynolds' Scandal & Punta Scarf
I just finished a quick project with Scandal and Punta. I will put a photo shortly. I love it. It is so soft and it only took one skein of each.

Misti International Alpaca Yarns
Misti Alpaca is the name of the alpaca yarn we will soon be carrying. I mentioned this a couple days ago. We should see some colors come in early next week, but a good number of the colors are on back order for several weeks. We are getting 7 colors of the lace weight and 12 colors of the bulky alpaca. I am very excited about this yarn, it is 100% baby alpaca and not very expensive at all. I am already thinking about projects to start with the bulky alpaca.

Trendsetter Ordered
We took the plunge and ordered about 8 different lines of Trendsetter yarns. Three of them are different Aura colorways. When all is said and done, we will be receiving about 40 colors of different Trendsetter yarns. For those of you that have been coming to the store, you know we don't like to do anything half-way. If everything goes as we expect, I have no problem bringing in another 3-4 more lines and lots more colors.

Delays.... Of course, as with anything scarf related, Trendsetter is a little behind on their shipping. We expect to see the yarn in early March. We have plenty of Plymouth, Kertzer, and Crystal Palace novelty yarns to satisfy your scarf needs until Trendsetter comes in. Sorry for the delay!

Bulky & Fingering Weight Alpaca
I am so exciting about the new bulky and fingering weight alpaca we will be getting shortly. The name escapes me right now, but it is a yarn company located in Illinois. I absolutely love alpaca, and Frog Tree just wasn't enough. Can you really have too much alpaca? If memory serves me correctly, we are getting about 6-8 colors of bulky and 5-6 colors of the fingering weight. We still plan to carry Frog Tree, but the fingering weight colors are all pastels and I wanted to bring in some different colors.

Housekeeping
I really need to make one of those nifty "Steal Me" buttons. My button on Knitted by Me sticks out like a sore thumb. I promise project photos are coming. I am still trying to put out the several hundred skeins of Plymouth we got in late last week. By mid-week I promise to have some photos up. I might play around with the layout and see if I can find a place to put my current project status. I am very jealous of everyone's knitting blog. I obviously have a long way to go. I am new to this, but I will figure it all out.

Ignored Again
Well, another knitting article has come and gone, with no mention of our shop. This time from CiN Weekly, Cincinnati's "local happenings" paper. I suppose it's our own fault. Not being listed in the yellow pages is really coming back to haunt us. I need a PR firm to make sure our name gets out.
Endless possibilities

Elsebeth Lavold Sweater
Now that I have finished my Entrelac sweater, its on to finish my sister-in-law's Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool sweater. The color is officially called Yellow, but I think it's more of a gold color. I promise photos will be coming.
